Pledge Sports wins World Summit Award for digital innovation

World Summit Award

PledgeSports.org among the 40 winners of UN-based World Summit Award, showcasing the world’s best practices in digital innovation

40 Winners, 24 Runner-ups, selected from 386 nominations. This World Summit Award once more brings you a diameter of innovation from Indonesia to Argentina, from Iceland to New Zealand.

After a huge selection process, PledgeSports.org was one of five winners in the Entertainment And Lifestyle Category, joined on the World Summit Award winners list by the Kerbal Space Program, the BBC’s Our World War Interactive, Creators from Argentina and FlipBeats from Sri Lanka.

PledgeSports.org founder and CEO Richard Pearson said: “After winning at the Eircom Spider Awards last year, this is an overwhelming achievement to be named a World Summit Award winner.”

He added: “To be considered among the best in the world for Digital Innovation is an honour and a position we have worked hard to reach.

“We will continue to push sports crowdfunding as the key to sports funding problems and will continue raising the standards that make this the best sports crowdfunding platform in the world.”

This win comes in the week that Pearson took over UK-based crowdfunding platform Talent Backer, merging its sports crowdfunding assets with PledgeSports.org, and allowing Talent Backer to continue to support the Arts community by relaunching as an entertainments crowdfunding site.
