List of Premier League Winners Since 1992

Since the introduction of the Premier League in 1992,  there have only been a total of 6 different Premier League winners. Manchester United have dominated the league by winning an incredible 13 Premier League trophies.

1992/93 Winners – Manchester United

Manchester United were the first team to be added to the list of Premier League winners in 1993 with an impressive 10 points to spare over runners-up Aston Villa. This was United’s eighth league title in their history.

1993/94 Winners – Manchester United

In the 1993/94 season, Manchester United claimed the top prize with 92 points and were crowned Premier League winners for a second year in row. Blackburn Rovers were a close second with 84 points.

1994/95 Winners – Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers claimed the Premier League title by 1 point over Manchester United in 1995. It was their first league title and qualified them for a spot in Champions League group stage for the following season.

1995/96 Winners – Manchester United

It was yet again another impressive league campaign for Manchester United as they pipped Newcastle United to the title with 82 points.

1996/97 Winners – Manchester United

This was Manchester United’s 4th league title in 5 years, Newcastle United were runners up once again and Arsenal claimed third spot.

1997/98 Winners – Arsenal

Arsenal claimed their first Premier League title in 1998 and their eleventh league title in their history. They also became the only team to win “The Double” for the second time.

1998/99 Winners – Manchester United

An incredible year for Manchester United, as they won the unique “Treble” of the league title, the FA Cup and the European Cup.

1999/00 Winners – Manchester United

Only losing 3 league games, Manchester United won their 6th league title and finished comfortable top of the pile. Arsenal finished 18 points behind them with 73 points.

2000/01 Winners – Manchester United

Manchester United 3rd league title in a row and Sir Alex Ferguson became the first manager ever to win three successive English league titles with the same club.

2001/02 Winners – Arsenal

Arsenal prevailed as Premier League winners in a 4 horse race with 87 points. They clinched the title against Manchester United at Old trafford in the penultimate game of the season.

2002/03 Winners – Manchester United

Manchester United won their 8th league in eleven years in 2003. They defended off Arsenal to claim the title by 5 points.

2003/04 Winners – Arsenal

The year of the “Invincibles”. Arsenal dominated the league campaign and became the first ever team to go the entire season unbeaten.

2004/05 Winners – Chelsea

A new face to the winner’s list and Chelsea were crowned champions for the first time. Roman Abramovich had taking over the club and invested over £100m in players. This aided Chelsea’s title triump as they recorded a record 95 points to win the trophy.

2005/06 Winners – Chelsea

Chelsea retained their title in 2005/06 campaign against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge with a 3-0 victory.

2006/07 Winners -Manchester United

Manchester United ended the season as league champions for a ninth time in fifteen years. Chelsea came a close second as they failed to apply the pressure in the last 3 games.

2007/08 Winners -Manchester United

United continued their dominance and claimed their tenth league title. Cristiano Ronaldo proved to a crucial player for the club as he scored 31 league goals.

2008/09 Winners -Manchester United

Another league title and another three titles in a row for Sir Alex Ferguson. Manchester United were ran close by a spirited Liverpool team and won the title with 90 points.

2009/10 Winners -Chelsea

Chelsea were crowned Premier league winners for a third time and breaking the goal scoring record of 103 goals in the process. Manchester United finished in second place.

2010/11 Winners – Manchester United

This was United’s nineteenth English league title, breaking a tie with Liverpool which had stood since Manchester United won their eighteenth title in 2009.

2011/12 Winners – Manchester City

One of the greatest endings to a league season ever, Manchester city claimed their first league title and became the fifth team to the Premier League trophy. City finished level on 89 points with Manchester United, but their goal difference was eight better than their local rivals’.

2012/13 Winners – Manchester United

Manchester United dominated the season and came out on top. It was also only the fourth time in the history of the Premier League that it had been won with at least four games remaining in the season.

2013/14 Winners – Manchester City

What looked like Liverpool’s first ever Premier League title, Manchester City had different thoughts. A turn of results and consistency seen City claim their second league title in three years.

2014/15 Winners – Chelsea

Chelsea claimed their fourth league title and first title since 2010. They held of Manchester City and won the league with 8 points to spare.

2015/16 Winners – Leicester City

Leicester City won the championship for the first time in their 132-year history, becoming the 24th club to become English football champions, and the sixth club to win the Premier League. A sporting moment we may never see again as such underdogs prevailed as champions.

2016/17 Winners – Chelsea

Chelsea claimed their fifth league title on what was the 25th anniversary of the Premier League. They managed to achieve an impressive 93 point total and dominated the season from start to finish.

2017/18 Winners – Manchester City

Arguably one of the most dominating campaigns in all of the Premier League history. Pep Guardiola’s men look to smash the Premier League record with the most points as they looked invincible from day one. Raheem Sterling and Kevin DeBruyne have been in excellent form all season as the blue side of Manchester were once again crownded Premier League champions and are the new additions to the list of Premier League Winners.

2018/2019 – Manchester City

After an epic neck and neck race between Liverpool and Man City, Man City finished on top with 98 points, Liverpool fought and had the top spot intermittently all throughout the year but finished a very close second with 97 points.  Chelsea were a distant 3rd on 72 points, Tottenham 4th and Arsenal 5th.

2019/20 – Liverpool

It’s been a long time coming but certainly not unexpected as Liverpool secure the 2019/20 Premier League title, their first in 30 years.  Man City loosing 2-1 at Chelsea on 25th June confirmed Liverpool as champions of England for first time in 30 years.

2020/21 – Manchester City

The 29th season of the Premier League was won by Manchester City, they secured a fifth Premier League title and seventh English league title overall with three matches to spare; it was also the club’s third title in the last four seasons.

2022 – Manchester City

The last day of the 2022 Premier League was a 2 horse race between Manchester City and Liverpool.  But it was Man City  who produced the drama by producing stunning comeback to beat Aston Villa 3-2 and win the title with 93 points.  Liverpool finished just one point behind while Chelsea finished a distant 3rd on 74 points.

2023 – Manchester City

After leading for much of the season, Arsenal were denied their first title in many years after the dominant Man City won the title three years in a row and secured their fifth title in six years. Only Manchester United, from 1995/96 to 2000/01, has equalled this record.
