2019/20 NFL Season Preview

What an amazing NFL season we had last year, the The Rams made it to the Superbowl, for the first time in 20 years and haven’t made the payoffs since 2004 so were somewhat underdogs coming into this season. But it was the New England Patriots who were victorious winning their 6th Superbowl, which is a shared record with the Pittsburg Steelers. But that’s all history now as we lead into the 2019/20 NFL season.

Preseason Matches

With the pre season already under way, it’s going to be an exciting year in the NFL. Already we’ve seen the defending champions, the Patriots destroy the Lions 31-3, and the defending champions, the Rams beaten 14-3 by the Raiders. The 65 game Preseason started on the 8th August and will run until the 29th August.

Regular Season

There are 256 games in the NFL season and it all kicks off on the 5th September. Below are the week one fixtures

NFL week one fixtures

Let’s look at the different divisions and we’ll give you our pick to top their division.

All the Superbowl winners since 1997

American Football Conference (AFC)

East

  • Buffalo Bills
  • Miami Dolphins
  • New England Patriots
  • New York Jets

We can’t see the New England Patriots not finishing their division on top, The Patriots last season made it 10 consecutive AFC East titles on their way to winning another Super Bowl. This year they’ll attempt to finish first in the division for the 17th time in the 19 years. Will the greatest NFL player of all time, Tom Brady do it again this year??

West

  • Denver Broncos
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Oakland Raiders
  • Los Angeles Chargers

With the Raiders and Broncos going through some transition, We expect it to be another 2 horse race this season between the Chargers and Chiefs and if you’re betting on NFL games we’re picking the Chiefs to come out on top.

North

  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Pittsburgh Steelers

The Cleveland Browns haven’t won their division since the late 80’s. The Ravens won last year but where going to pick The Steelers this year

South

  • Houston Texans
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Tennessee Titans

The Colts and Texans have been the strongest in their division in the last few years and we don’t expect that to change. We’re picking the Texans to win again this year.

The most successful NFL teams of all time

National Football Conference (NFC)

North

  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Minnesota Vikings

The Bears won it last season, the Packers are under new coach Matt LaFleur. We think the race is between these too but anything can happen! Bears are our pick to win again.

South

  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Carolina Panthers
  • New Orleans Saints
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The NFC South is always a tough call, the New Orleans Saints won last year and they are our safe bet for this year too.

East

  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New York Giants
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Washington Redskins

The Cowboys won the division last year buy the Eagles, it’s the Eagles we’re choosing to come out on top this season.

West

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Seattle Seahawks

The Rams tasted Superbowl glory last year and we think they’ll be back for more this year! They are the strongest team in the division and we don t see that changing in 2019/20.
