Week 14 in the NFL and the Playoffs

Things are really heating up in the NFL, the regular season is drawing to an end and there is some fierce competition and last minute fighting to try make the playoffs.  The playoffs will start in January followed by the the season finale – Super Bowl Super LIV, the 54th Super Bowl and the 50th modern-era National Football League.  It will be held at the Hard Rock Cafe Stadium in Miami Garden in 2nd Feb 2020.

Already eliminated in the AFC are the Bengals and Miami Dolphins.   In the NFC the Lions, Cardinals, Falcon and the New York Giants.

There are no such worries for the 6 time Super Bowl winners, and most successful NFL team of all time, the New England Patriots, they lead the AFC with the Ravens, both teams winning 10 games from 12 so far.  Over at the NFC it’s the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks leading the field also with 10 wins from 12 games.

The NFL Playoffs are made up of a total of 12 teams – 6 teams from the AFC and 6 Teams from the NFC. There are four divisions in each conference, the winner of each division will automatically qualify for the playoffs.  The two highest seeded teams from each conference get byes.

In The AFC North Division the Baltimore Ravens are clearly out in front and Kansas City Chiefs have a good lead in the AFC West.   In AFC East, the Patriots lead, but the Buffalo Bills are very close behind and should the Patriots loose to the Chiefs on 8th of December, and the Bills beat the Ravens, it would even the two teams out at the top on AFC East and give the Bills a shot at leading the whole AFC.

Over at the NFC the race to the top is just as close, the New Orleans Saints, Sea Hawks and are on pretty much the same standings.  While the Green Bay Packers have a chance of catch up in the December schedule and could easily be in the running if the beat the Redskins on the 8th.

Important Games in week 14

The division winners automatically go through so we think one of the games to watch this week will be Patriots V Chiefs on the 8th.  The Patriots lost to 22-28 to the Texans while the Chiefs blasted the Oakland Raiders off the field 40-9.  Online NFL betting has the Patriots as favourites but the Chiefs have home advantage, and our money is on them to come out on top of this important game.

The Bills V’s Raven is another interesting one, as mentioned above, if the Bills win they have a shot a leading the top of the AFC , especially should our Patriots V’s Chiefs prediction work.

As mentioned above the Packers V’s Redskins will be one to watch as the Packers have a lot to play for to try lead the NFC.  While the Redskins have very little hope of making the playoffs at this stage.

In the hunt are last years Super Bowl losers, the LA Rams, they have a very important game against a very strong Seahawks.  The Rams really need to win their next few games to stay in the hunt and make the 2020 playoffs in January.
