Jasmine Conway born in 2004 is a top UK Nationally ranked Junior Tennis player based in Oxfordshire.
She began playing tennis when she was six coached by Victor Roubanov who amongst training many successful junior players coached Anna Kournikova and Marcus Willis.
Her passion for the sport was clearly evident by the age of 8 nominated for the LTA’s County Talent ID programme in June 2013 which identifies children showing particular promise in the sport. Jasmine quickly progressed to the LTA’s Regional Talent ID in the same year which gathered the most talented tennis players to help them progress in the sport.
Since late 2016 Jasmine has been part of the LTA’s National Training Camp and is now part of the AEGON Future Stars Programme which helps with the long term development of the UK’s top young tennis players.
At present Jasmine’s tennis schedule has her training 5 days a week which includes a daily strength and conditioning programme directed by dedicated coaches.
It’s a very tough and long road ahead of her, but to succeed she is 100% devoted. She strives to succeed both academically and in her tennis aspirations.
Jasmine’s current aim is to maintain her National top ranking whilst developing her tennis. Currently ranked No. 2 in the UK her dream is that of many junior high-performance players, Wimbledon!
Her most recent achievement is being the Winner of this year’s Scottish Junior Open Championships (part of the 12U Summer National Tour 2017) which was held in Glasgow during July.
Jasmine can boast that in all her 12U Summer National Tour 2017 double tournaments she has consistently achieved to reach the finals. The win in the doubles has so far eluded her but reaching all the finals was no mean achievement. Her constant development is a great testimony to her passion and determination, something to be proud of.
Jasmine maintains to set the bar at the highest level by regularly competing in the national category for her current and next age group levels.
The next leg of her journey is Europe having already competed in 14U Category 1 Tennis Europe Antonio Hernandez Cup in 2016 at the age of 11! Held at the Sanchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona Jasmine was also able to enjoy the great training facilities which have assisted the likes of Andy Murray, Johana Konta, Garbine Muguruza, Giles Muller and Grigor Dimitrov to name but a few.
During 2018 Jasmine will start competing in Europe in earnest. This will give her a great opportunity to progress in her tennis as she will be competing against some of the best junior players in the world.
Without question, there is a great cost in attending these tournaments which can span over a week at a time. As Jasmine aims to achieve a European ranking, to allow her to compete at the highest level tournaments, she will need to compete in at least 10 European tournaments over the year. This fund will help her towards achieving her goal as it would assist with her expenses for travel, accommodation and help maintain her training programme whilst attending these tournaments.
A great and exciting journey which we hope you will enjoy with us.
Still a long road ahead with dreams of Wimbledon and becoming a pro tennis player.
If you wish to help Jasmine achieve her goals please make your contribution here.
So to all those that have been part of the journey, so far, we are grateful for your support and help. Thank You.
