Hello! My name is Kayley McIntyre and I am a novice level eventer with a goal to fund my trip to the American Eventing Championships at the end of August.

My partner, Bringin the Heat aka Chili, and I got a unique start together almost exactly one year ago. Chili was a lesson horse at my barn who disliked the nature of the job and I was taking an opportunity to be a working student in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania for upper level Eventing couple Kaitlin and Dan Clasing in my senior year of high school. At this point Chili was unrideable and needed a job and I needed a horse. Really, I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for my trainer then and now Christina Stamos Johns I wouldn’t be anywhere. She gave me the ability to have and work with Chili and has been an incredible supporter in everything we’ve done. Turns out he and I clicked (I blame it on the fact that we’re both red heads!) We bonded and worked really hard under the guidance of Kaitlin and Dan and reached leaps and bounds. Chili and I were originally only to be together for our first month in Kennett but we were working so well that we wanted to see how far it could go.

So here we are! A year’s worth of hard work, teaching, and training in Kennett Square, Aiken, South Carolina, and now Lititz, PA has led us to qualifying for the 2019 American Eventing Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park. This is truly a dream come true and something that I am overwhelmingly proud of having accomplished. Pending qualification, my sister Brynne will also be competing in Kentucky along side me. This is no easy feat. Who knew we would be an underdog story ❤️  Now I need your help on the last leg of the journey.
