This is the Irish University team in 2018 at the BNP Paribas World University Team Championships in Grenoble, France. It is described as the greatest University tennis championship in the world, as a captain and coaching veteran of over 13 years, I would at least 2nd that. Last year we finished 4th, this is the best finish we have ever had, 1 more position and we would have medaled.

We have been invited by the French Tennis Federation and the French University Sports Association for the last 13 years to this event. It invites the top university tennis players from all over the world including the US, Germany, France, Belgium, UK, China, Italy and Ireland and has had players such as Steve Johnson, Danielle Collins and Austin Krajicek to name but a few.

On the Irish side we have had some of the Irish greats such as Amy Bowtell, Sinead Lohan, Barry King and James Cluskey play for their country. It has been described to me by our players as the best ever Team Tennis event they have ever played and it starts in less then 2 months.

Why are we crowdfunding? Our previous sponsors have decided that it doesn’t fit under their umbrella anymore which leaves us slightly short. We have Irish University players in the US that need to be flown over as well as our Irish based players but time is of the essence. Please do what you can!!
