DON’T CALL IT A DREAM,  CALL IT A PLAN !!

I’m certainly a dreamer — no denying that. But who isn’t? We all have hopes and dreams that we hope to one day see through to fruition. Being a dreamer doesn’t make you special; it makes you human. However, my dream of playing in the 2017 Rugby League Student World Cup became realistic the moment I stopped calling it a dream but rather a plan. I put together a plan of action which included personal and team targets that would allow me to reach my goal………8 months later here we are!

For those that don’t know me, I am Adrian Chaima currently in my final year at Nottingham Trent University studying Construction Management. I play rugby league for Nottingham Trent University 1st XII  and Nottingham Outlaws (Conference League South Champions 2015).

This year I have been selected in the Wales 24 man squad for the Students Rugby League World Cup, hosted by Australia in Sydney, July 2017. Sadly, The Rugby Football League has confirmed that it is withdrawing £70,000 funding to Wales Rugby League for junior development. This means we have to find our own funding to attend this prestigious, life changing event.I have to contribute £3000 which is personally a challenge being a student. Am sure most of you will understand that students already have overdrafts, student loans, no real income, working on their dissertations whilst also fulfilling my training and playing commitments.

So far I have contributed £500 of the £3000 target which has been used as a deposit on my travel and accommodation. Having secured my place on the pitch I now need £2500 to secure my attendance at the 2017 Student Rugby League World Cup which is where I need your help.

Individual Sponsorship:  Any sort of sponsorship no matter how big or small will go a long way to reaching the target and I will be extremely grateful. I will also be volunteering with Cancer Research and the British Red Cross in return for your sponsorship. (more rewards to come)

Company Sponsorship: For those that own or work for a company that is interested, there is an opportunity for player sponsorship. For a minimum £300, your company logo is embossed into the kit playing number; a place at the farewell dinner with a shirt presented and PA announcements at matches in the UK and Australia e.g.  during squad announcements and after I score. “Try scorer is number 2 Adrian Chaima, sponsored by……company name”  (p.s. I play on the wing so loads of tries).

Please feel free to share and get in touch if you would like to help in any other way

Dreams are meant to be realised  – it’s their purpose!

Thanks

Adrian
