The Essex Leopards are a professional basketball team with a successful past that began back in 1994 in the London Arena in East London.

In that time we played at the highest level of British basketball in the British Basketball League and it is the ambition of the fans that run the club now, based at the Brentwood Centre and Harlow Leisurezone in Essex, that one day we will return to that level, but we can’t do it without your help.

Who we are

We are a friendly club run by fans for the fans, we are also a professional club with senior and junior teams and an enthusiastic forward-thinking board, who are all proud to be involved in an Olympic sport.

What we do

We play in the England Basketball League (EBL) Division One, which is the second tier of British basketball and have won National Cups and National Trophys.

Where we want to go

The aim of this project is to take the Leopards to the next level. The immediate goals are to win the league title and National Trophy and our long-term goal is to maybe one day return to the British Basketball League.

Ultimately, we want to provide supporters of basketball a professional team to be proud of, one with a secure future and a large and established fanbase across Essex and the surrounding counties.

How you can help

It is by making basketball fans active participants in the future of the club that will allow them to positively contribute to its future success. So we want our fans and all basketball fans to join us by supporting this campaign and becoming part of the Essex Leopards, whether that’s by wearing a team jersey, sponsoring a game ball or just adding your name to our supporters’ list.

A team with history and a future

In 2005/6 the Leopards Basketball Club won the National Cup, entertaining a crowd of several thousand at the NIA Birmingham. Since then it has won the 2011/12 National Cup and added the same season's Division One League and Play-off crowns to the trophy cabinet. Our team is currently playing professionally in the England Basketball League (EBL) Division One, which is the second tier of British basketball and recently added the National Trophy to the cabinet.
