Hi, my name is Willie Mack III. I’m a 26 year old professional golfer from Grand Blanc, Michigan in the USA.

I have been playing golf as long as I can remember and can’t see myself doing anything else. My dream has always to play on the PGA Tour and become compete with the best players in the world. I believe I have been fortunate enough to have been afforded the opportunity to play golf and develop into the player I am today. There is only one African-American golfer on the PGA Tour and two others on the Web.Com Tour – I want to transcend my current situation and join this special group.

I have had my fair share of success as a junior, an amateur, collegiate and professional golfer and now my sights are on the PGA Tour. Although I am blessed to have excelled at the PGA Junior Championship level, I must say one of my fondest moments was when I manged to lead my college team, Bethune-Cookman University, to a PGA Minority Collegiate National Championship. I am currently sitting on 11 pro tournament titles, including the 2011 Michigan Amateur.

Q-School is professionally known as qualifying school – and is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for the U.S. based PGA, LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a “tour card,” meaning that they can play in most of the tour’s events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year’s money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour.

In my first attempt at earning my tour card, I narrowly missed the cut, falling at the second stage. I thought I was going to have a tough time bouncing back but the set-back actually added more fuel to the fire for me and here I am again, ready to walk through the door! Unfortunately over the course of the last few days, the private funding I had been promised to help cover my registration costs for Q-School was revoked due to unforeseen circumstances on their part. I currently have $2,000 in hand to partially cover the $6,000 fee, due on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

Any support you can give me will be used towards my registration costs for Q-School. I need to raise $4,000 in the next four days, which is an extremely tough assignment but I have faith that it can be done. I feel I really have the chance to achieve my goal of making it through Q-School and taking my career to the next level. Representing Michigan and helping to inspire others has always kept me driven, but i still need your help!

Please help me reach my goal and I won’t let you down!Thank you for taking the time to read my campaign and thank you in advance for any contributions big or small. Please share this page anyway you can, especially with your friends, families and colleagues.
