My story

I am 17  and studying BTEC Extended Diploma Sports and Exercise Level 3 at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College. I am the British and English Junior Wrestling Champion for my age and weight categories and I am also a Level One Coach.

I have been wrestling for six years and I have to overcome many obstacles to continue in my sport, including training in far away from home and, being the only female freestyle wrestler in the South West of England, sparring with males.

I am constantly competing and succeeding at a high level despite these struggles, and my success means that I have been selected for Great Britain and to train with the National Talent Squad in Manchester.

Where you come in

All my training, competitions and travel so far been self-funded but now I need to ask for a little help to progress further and fulfill my ambitions. My dream is to wrestle for England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast of Australia and I believe I can do this, but I need to improve and I cannot do this without you.

I would like to raise £4,000, which is the cost of just one year’s training and competitions. If you could help to support  me  it would be very much appreciated.

If wrestling was easy I would have given it up a long time ago, that’s why I love the sport. My goal is to go as far as I can in the sport of Freestyle Wrestling not just for myself, but to also be a role model. I want to prove that females can participate in this sport and all sports, no matter how hard.

They have the strength, they just need someone to show them that. Please help me be one of those people.

Thanks for reading,

Molly.
