Sponsor an England NETS World Cup 2016 player

England Netball has announced the National squad to compete at the Indoor Netball NETS World Cup in Wellington, New Zealand in August 2016.

NETS is not a professional sport, so the trip is self-funded; every player must raise sufficient sponsorship to be able to represent their country.

The costs include flights, accommodation, competition fees and physiotherapy support, totalling £4,000 for the competition.

Emily Rose is one of the ambitious athletes who has been named in the Ladies Squad. She started playing conventional 7 aside netball at the age of 10 and immediately fell in love with the game. . .

Starting her netball career as a junior at Just Ahead Netball Club in her home county of Hampshire, Emily quickly progressed to the senior squad and represented East Hampshire in the English Counties League.

At the age of 18, she moved to the West Country to join the Teambath Netball High Performance program at the University of Bath.

This gave her the opportunity to train and play alongside some of the best players in England, developing the skill, strength and fitness to make her the player she is today.

She has competed in the Netball Superleague, British University Games and has been a valued member of the Teambath Premier League squad for years.

But it hasn’t all been plain sailing. Emily has overcome five knee surgeries and an Achilles tendon tear, exuberating determination and commitment to reach her current sporting level despite those major setbacks.

She has risen to the challenge of transferring her conventional netball skills to the new and exciting version of the game – NETS.

With a high level of fitness, she enjoys the non-stop element of NETS coupled with the requirement for technical skill when playing off the nets.

An inspiring character on and off the court, Emily also works as a Rheumatology Specialist Pharmacist in the NHS, with every spare second committed to her training.

NETS World Cup 2016

After being named in the Open Ladies Squad for the NETS World Cup 2016, Emily said:

“This is a very exciting opportunity. The team are looking forward to the challenge ahead, in a bid to make our families, sponsors and country proud.”

Please help Emily and the team bring the Gold Medal and Indoor Netball NETS World Cup 2016 title back to England by supporting Emily’s travel and accommodation costs for this New Zealand-based tournament.
