Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read about my story.

I have never used something like this before, and it is very daunting putting myself out there,  however 2016 is a big year. The Rio 2016 Olympics is a big dream for any athlete, and I am the same.

It has been my dream from the age of 9 to compete at the Olympics, and I want to be able to say I have done everything in my power to get there hence this page. It is an amazing feeling to think that people out there want to help support me and believe in me!

My target is £1,500 – however I expect to spend up to £8,000 this athletic year on funding myself.

I am a very ambitious person. Having graduated with a Masters Degree at Loughborough University in 2014, I now work part time in a PR company to help fund myself whilst training full time. However Part time work can only contribute so much towards general life and my athletics though and this £1,500 will help so much towards massage, physiotherapy, altitude trips, and travel to oversea competition. It really is true when I say that EVERY little bit helps!

Some of my achievements to date:

  • 4th fastest Irish women ever over 800m indoors
  • 6th fastest Irish women ever over 1500m indoors.
  • Competed at the 2013 European Indoor Athletics Championships just missing out on a place in the final by 0.4 seconds.
  • 6th at the 2013 World University Games
  • Competed at the 2014 World Indoor Athletics Championships.

Unfortunately my last season did not go that well due to a stress fracture in my foot and a couple of small injuries that kept on reoccurring. However, after experiencing such high level of competition, it made me extremely determined to be back there this year, and I am now training hard, focusing on the 2016 indoor season with my Coach Bud Baldaro in Birmingham, UK and my club St Cocac AC Kilcock.

The disappointment of last year has made me very focused on what I want from my athletics, and I believe has made me both stronger physically and mentally.

The big aims for the upcoming season are:

  • World Indoor Athletics Championships in Portland, USA. (March 2016)
  • European Outdoor Championships in Amsterdam – July 2016
  • Olympic Games in Rio (August, 2016)

Thank you so so much for reading my story, and I really appreciate every tiny bit of support I receive. The money received is more invaluable than you will ever know, and will genuinely help me towards my Goal of Rio 2016. Main things the raised money will be spent on are:

  • Massage and Physio
  • Training Camps
  • Oversea competitions
  • Nutrition and supplements

Thanks again!!

Thank you #1

GUYS AND GIRLS... Just wanted to say a very quick thank you so far for all the support. Training is going well, I am just coming to the end of a 3 month training block which was pretty much all about building a solid base for the Outdoor season. During January and February I will keep the volume high but incorporate a bit more speedier stuff to get ready for some indoor races. Thanks again, words don't sound much, but this means more to me than you will probably ever know.
