Hi everyone,

Most of you will know who I am but by way of introduction, I’m Will and I am the Men’s 1’s goalkeeper for Atherstone Adders. I joined the Adders 10 years ago when I was 7 years old however only started playing in goal at the age of 12. Since then, I have had a lot of success thanks to the opportunities Atherstone has given me and the opportunities that England Hockey give.
I started off playing in the Badgers (Juniors) when the team was first formed 5 seasons ago before progressing my way through the Men’s Thirds, Seconds and now having played for the Firsts for the last two seasons. That year, I was selected for the Warwickshire team and beyond that the Midlands team which saw me attend HiPAC (High Performance Assessment Camp) in Leeds. Since then, my success and progress within the England Hockey Pathway has come along quickly. I’ve spent the last four years within the Performance Centre set up, training with the South Midlands team at Warwick School. This season, I was then selected for the Elite U18 Development Programme (DiSE) with performance camps throughout the year at Lillehsall National Sports Centre (the second home of hockey within England), putting me in the top 12 goalkeepers in the country – my next camp being just days before Christmas.
Since moving my education to Loughborough College, I have been selected for England and GB colleges u19 team as the first choice keeper. This will finally give me the full international experience when we go away to play Wales and Scotland.
All these achievements do however come at a cost. This includes the cost of kit, travel and accommodation. (I will be driving to all training sessions around England as well as the games in Scotland and Wales). Therefore I am asking for any donations to help towards these costs. If all goes to plan, I would hope to see myself in the National Squad very soon!
Many thanks,
Will
