Hi, I’m Ben Thatcher and I represent Kaiju Martial Arts in Wakefield, England.

TeamKMA are a fantastic team of dedicated Martial Artists who have spent the last 5 years working towards their goal of representing their country. This year we have 12 members of TeamKMA qualified for the WKC World Championships in Dublin, Ireland.

In order to gain a place on the WKC England Team, all TeamKMA members stepped up their training to win a medal at the National Tournament in Bradford – if they achieved a Medal position they qualified for a place in the National Squad.

The WKC World Championships are being held at the City West Hotel Conference & Event Centre in Dublin between 29th October – 4th November 2016, and will be competing against competitors from around the World.

Due to the type of Martial Art we train in, we receive no Government Funding, this means that the athletes and their families are entirely responsible for all funding!

Consequently we face the weekly challenge of attempting to raise money, to ensure that the hard work the team are putting in training, enables them to compete at the highest level in our sport.
