Dan Campbell Laments Detroit Lions’ Inability to Cope with Baltimore Ravens Star Lamar Jackson

The Detroit Lions fell to a heavy loss to the Baltimore Ravens to put an end to a four-game winning streak, and it’s one that head coach Dan Campbell took on the chin with a fair amount of honesty about his side’s shortcomings.

The Baltimore Ravens were imperious in their 38-6 win at the M&T Bank Stadium, taking John Harbaugh’s side to an impressive 5-2 and leaving the Lions with the same record.

Fans of the Lions who still feel that their Lions side is well-placed to make a real impact in the postseason can take advantage of this DraftKings promo code to sweeten the deal with any potentially successful bet they place on Detroit this season.

Having beaten the Atlanta Falcons, the Green Bay Packers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, many Lions fans would have been hopeful on their way to facing the Ravens on the road, but they were undone by some great offensive work by Lamar Jackson and co.

On the loss, Campbell stated in an honest fashion

“Those guys, they played well. They kicked our ass,”

“It’s a credit to them,” he added.

“Lamar beat us,”

“He hammered us with his arm. He threw the ball extremely well. He ran when he needed to, and we did not handle it well.”

Campbell didn’t take the defeat likely but clearly feels it’s just a blip in an otherwise strong season, adding,

“Offensively, we never got in a rhythm early,”

“We just kind of felt they were playing with house money over there. You get up so much by a certain portion in that game then it’s, shoot, they’re kinda doing whatever they want to do.”

“When you get in that hole, what happens is everybody starts pressing,”

“You’re doing more than you’re asked to do and because of that it creates more problems. And that’s on both sides of the ball. It’s in all three phases really. Look, we just didn’t play well, and I hate to say it, that’s one of those games. It’s one of those, we just could not get out of our own way. It’s a credit to those guys over there. They played outstanding football and they rubbed our nose in it.”

“When you step back, and you look at a number of performances that were very much subpar across the board, it’s not coincidence,”

“And so that’s where, man, I did not do a good job of getting them ready. I did not, I did not. And it’d be one thing if there were just a couple of guys here or there, but ultimately, it was that I didn’t have them ready and I’ve got to do a much better job of getting them prepared, which I will this week.”

Next up for the Lions is the Las Vegas Raiders, who come to Ford Field on the back of a loss to the Chicago Bears, and Campbell knows his side has to bounce back sooner rather than later;

“It’s here, it happened, it’ll motivate us moving forward,”

“The shame would be if we don’t use this to get better for next week and it bleeds over into the Raiders. That would be the ultimate shame.”
