Verona FC U13’s have had an amazing year following their promotion to the illustrious DDSL Major league. With a roster full of exceptionally talented young players the club is always looking to give the squad new opportunities to further their skills and development. Following a hugely successful tour to Stoke City in October 2016 in which the team beat the U13 Stoke City Academy they are planning to recreate a similar feat with plans to visit last season’s premier league champions, Leicester City in February 2018.
Over the course of the weekend, players will receive professional coaching from the club staff and get to play a match against the Leicester City U13 academy squad. It will also include a tour and home premier league game at the King Power Stadium to complete what will hopefully be a hugely memorable experience for all the players. The trip will offer ideal preparation for the team before they begin a new season as an U14 squad and a priceless opportunity to build team spirit.
To help cover or reduce the costs we will be fundraising throughout 2017. This is our first ever crowdfunding project so thank you in advance for coming on this journey with us!
As a volunteer based football club we are also actively seeking support in the form of corporate sponsorship to help ease the financial burden for any player’s travelling. It’s an opportunity to assist in the development of young players whilst offering a valuable service to the community at the same time. In return for this much needed gesture we will endeavour to promote your business on our many forms of social media and spread the word of our gratitude to our vast supporter group. A meteoric rise to the top
In 2012 this group of players were formed as a DDSL U9E1 squad having failed to make the Verona first team at that time. What followed was a remarkable turnaround in fortunes due to the hard work and commitment to improve from the players and coaching staff with an unbridled support network from enthusiastic parents. On their journey the team climbed through the league tables claiming 4 league championships in a row and were rewarded with promotion to the illustrious DDSL Major league in 2016. It's a remarkable feat given that the players were written off at a very young age and are now going strong in their quest for premier league football. As a result of this achievement there is an incredible bond between the players, coaches and parents with a huge sense of pride and excitement for the future and what they can achieve pulling together.
