Sports that You Can Still Play During the Coronavirus Quarantine Period

It’s been a few weeks, and days for some, since people have been staying at home to be safe from the 2019 pandemic called COVID-19. Many countries have announced lockdowns and people can only really go out to get essential items like food and medicine.

It seems like the world has paused but it shouldn’t mean that our daily activities should also stop. There are surely many things that can be done within our homes and it’s important that we remain active. We need to stay fit and healthy especially during a health crisis.

Staying at home would have been easier for sports fans if only sports events weren’t canceled. It’d be exciting to watch their favorite sports and maybe even wager on them. Live tennis betting and other sports that can be wagered on in-game can be fun and exciting. However, things don’t always go how we want them to and sports events will have to wait until at least this whole thing settles.

You can still watch the replays of your favorite games, but what’s even better is if you do sports yourself. This can be a fun activity and something that would help you remain active. There still are sports and sports-related activities that you can do at home or within your backyard and we’re here to give you ideas.

  • Backyard Football

You don’t really need a spacious backyard to be able to play this. If you have a foldable cage that you can set up as a goal, then this should be really fun. However, even if you don’t have a foldable cage, you can just set up a makeshift goal cage with some poles and nets.

  • Basketball

You don’t need two rings to play basketball at home. This can also be done indoors. If you have a kid, you probably have a basketball toy ring somewhere. You don’t even need to use a real basketball to play this. As long as you have a ball that you can throw and shoot, you can already have fun with this.

  • Table Tennis

This indoor sport can be very tiring and challenging. You can play this with anyone at home while still practicing physical distancing. It’s a good way to exercise. You can still play this if you don’t have a real table tennis. You can always transform your dinner table into this. If you don’t have anyone to play this with, then you can always play against the wall.

  • Running on the treadmill

This can be part of your daily routine and should be done for at least 30 minutes. You can challenge yourself and boost the speed of your machine on a daily basis. This is definitely a total workout and can help you stay in shape even if you’re just at home.

  • Spot Jogging

If you don’t have a treadmill machine that you can use, you can always spot jog. You can also do this at least 30 minutes each day and it’s guaranteed that you’ll be sweating without even moving around your house. You can do this while watching TV and you can follow it up with either yoga or a few minutes of cardio.

  • Cycling

A stationary bike would work best for this. Kind of like how you run on the treadmill, you can also cycle for at least 30 minutes a day. If you don’t have a stationary bike, then you can use an ordinary bike and just be sure to lift the back wheel a bit. This should be fun while watching a movie or playing outdoor sceneries on your TV.

  • Frisbee

This is something that would only work if you have a backyard or if the front of your house is a bit spacious. It’s more fun to play this with a partner, but if you have a dog, why not train him or her to catch a frisbee too

  • Indoor Golf

There are places you can visit to play indoor gold but since these establishments are closed, you can still do this at home. You don’t need a professional set up at home for this. If you have a club and a golf ball, you just really need to set up your own golf course.

  • Indoor obstacles

Another fun activity you can do at home is to set up obstacles and play with people at home. If you’ve watched Nickelodeon’s Legends of the Hidden Temple growing up, then this could be a fun and exciting activity for you and your kids if you have any.
